Alumni Day 2009
A combination of new seating arrangements, a large number of ’61 attendees, late arrivals, and a small number of our
own attendees, made it hard to keep track even of who was there. We know the following for sure; there may have been others
as well who managed not to be noticed:
Carolyn and Clif Maloney
Peg and Dave Willard
Jane and Ted Hilles
Harry Lord
Bob Sellery
Philip Detjens
Lillian Salazar and Mike Southwell
Philip Detjens writes as follows:
At the luncheon in Jadwin Gym on Alumni Day, February 21, our classmate George Schnetzer was one of three recipiants to be jointly awarded the S. Barksdale Penick, Jr. '25 Award. This Award was presented for the first time in 1987 by the Alumni Council Princeton Schools Committe. It recognizes the regional Alumni School Committees whose activities, enthusiasm , and imagination have most effectively realized the primaery goals of School Committee work: to recruit outstanding recruits to Princeton, to report skillfully on these candidates to the Admission Office and to represent Princeton to the local community. George was the Alumni Schools Committee Chair of the Princeton Club of Tulsa. I ... was pleased to be the Class of 1960 representative at the Service of Remembrance held at the University Chapel on Saturday afternoon. Listed are the eleven classmates that were honored and the dates of their passing: John Charles Coe (January 20, 2008) Wiliam David Cohen (August 4, 2008) Peter Jon de Vos (June 9, 2008) Richard Curtis Deyo (January 28, 2008) Douglass Barnett Forsyth ( January 26, 2009) David Wickham Jones (November 8, 2008) Michael Frederick Lanham (May 13, 2008) Wallace Stuart McCoy (December 15, 2008) Malcolm Edgar Meistrell (October 14, 2008) Jehu Stokely Merry (January 9, 2003) (Information only received in 2008) Paul Robert Gary Sackett (March 17, 2008)
