Los Angeles Mini-reunion, 26-29 September 2013
This event continued our highly successful series of mini-reunions at various locations, ranging from Seattle to Cuba.
Ron described it this way:
The Los Angeles Mini-Fly-In in late September, 2013 was a great success by most counts. Blessed with pristine weather, many of our classmates and their spouses and companions were treated to a kickoff dinner at an old Los Angeles watering hole, drenched in Princeton accouterments and then whisked off the next day to Paramount Studios where they trod the boards of active movie sets, saw actors lounging around, learned some of the movie tricks of the trade and then wined and dined in the Paramount commissary where they were given a choice of Paramount swag to take home. The next day, after a scant amount of sleep, the group was motor-coached to the Getty Center, an architectural gem with exhibitions to match and rare views of famed Catalina Island and the Los Angeles basin urban sprawl. The evening was at Magic Castle, a showplace for some of the greatest magicians from around the globe. There was a tour of the storied mansion built in 1908, dinner and an astounding magic show. Sunday brunch with breakfast cocktails was at the Sofitel, the anchor hotel for the event, followed by photos and adieus.
(from the editor) The only thing missing from the above is an acknowledgment of Ron’s excellent management.
Attending were the following, in many cases with spouses/partners/companions:
